I’m still reading In The Woods and I felt like it got off to a bit of a slow start, but I’m a little over halfway through and really into it now. I’m also listening to Lauren Graham’s book, Talking As Fast As I Can. I love hearing her narrate it! It feels like I have Lorelai Gilmore in the car with me and also like Lauren and I are best friends.

To get in the Christmas spirit, I’m reading A Christmas Party by Georgette Heyer and having the best time. I’m only 5 chapters in, but already it reminds me of a Christmas-y version of Clue and Murder by Death, two of the greatest movies ever made.

I’m still in the early chapters of Tana French’s The Trespasser. It takes me a lot longer to read books these days as my work keeps me busy and I am usually too tired to read much when I get home. While I usually enjoy the slow burn of the Dublin Murder Squad books, there is a sense of urgency in The Trespasser from the jump. I feel like I’m a passenger in Detective Antoinette Conway’s car, hanging on while she drives fast and furious, and I’m hoping she doesn’t crash.
I also started Melody’s Key by Dallas Coryell, which was provided by the author in exchange for an honest review. So far, I really relate to Tegan’s deep hatred for the morning alarm clock.

I’ve started reading A Christmas Party, at the recommendation of a fellow book clubber, Emily. I agree with her that it’s like a Christmas-y version of Clue and Murder by Death but so far I don’t find any of the characters to be nearly as delightful! Except for maybe Joseph, the poor chap who just wanted to have a nice Christmas weekend, but instead everyone is fighting and committing murder. Bah humbug!
I’m almost done with Sacrifice, the mystery/thriller set in the Scottish Shetland Islands… it’s hard to put down (shame on you, job!) and I hope to finish it soon because I can’t wait to see how it ends. Just when I thought the mystery was wrapping up, new discoveries were made. I also love the folklore tie-ins.
I am also still enjoying Dear Mr. Potter.

I have literally read six pages of 100 Year Old Man since my last update. Though now I want to read something Christmasy and will take a break from my Buzzfeed perusal to search for books on Amazon. Didn’t need to get any work done today anyway.
